A little information about J.K. Songs

I have been writing music for several years now, and played guitar for decades. The ethics of my work was inspired by the Beatles and similar artists from that era, a style that inspired me to write and play. Songs with melodies that came easily to me. My music usually consists of melodic structures that are easy to hum or sing. I like that about music, you can take it with you, so to speak.

About JK Songs

Jim Kocher, Owner and Songwriter
I was interested in music growing up in Cleveland Ohio’s received a guitar as a gift from a friend when i was ten years old. I started taking guitar lessons at fifteen. I listened to all types of music. I liked Cat Stevens, the Beatles, Bob Dylan, Eric Burden and the Animals. I started writing music in 2005. My first song was God of War, I sent my songs to record companies, and one company wrote me back that they liked a song on my album. Then they decided to publish the song. Most of my songs tell stories, either about my life or people I have known. I write love songs, many inspired by the love I have for my wife Renee, or just feelings I have. At any rate, my songs tell a story about life, love, God, The troubles that we all go through. My new album Rock and Roll and more, takes you from light rock, to old style rock and roll, to See the Son See the King, a song about Christ’s second coming. I love music, it lifts me up, inspires me to write. The best feeling for me is when I get an e-mail from a fan that likes my music… that makes it all worthwhile.

Jason Meyers, Singer
Jason was born into a musical family in Cleveland, OH. His mother, a piano teacher at the Cleveland Institute of Music, and his father, a double bass player, raised him in a house full of songs. He started his own musical journey on the piano at the age of two. While other kids played video games and watched MTV, Jason would watch footage of Dizzy Gillespie, Thelonius Monk, and Charlie Parker as his father played along on his double bass. He would follow his folks around the house with a toy guitar, providing a musical narrative to their daily goings-on. Moving through the years, Jason’s singing skills developed, informed by diverse influences such as Creedence Clearwater Revival, Mahalia Jackson, T-Model Ford, and Eric Clapton. Contemporary artists such as Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Gary Allan, and Alison Krauss also shape Jason’s eclectic style. Jason is working on singing songs for other talented artists. He also hopes to collaborate with some of his favorite writers and musicians. Keep an ear out for Jason. He’ll be singing to you soon.

Doug Dostal, Producer
At O Sound Studios it is our mission to capture the sound that makes each of our artists unique. We listen to you and what you do and capture that in our audio and video recordings. As creative artists ourselves we understand the need to find that special element that says you and then help you present it to the world. O Sound studios offers the artist a comfortable alternative to amateur home studios and over-priced, big budget, recording facilities while still offering the quality of product that you need to compete in today's music markets. In the music world there are two styles of production. One imposes a sound on the artist based on the vision of the engineer and/or the producer and one which tries to capture the unique sound and vision of each individual artist. While both styles can get very good results we are committed to the second path. We work to find what makes you special as an artist, to find and bring out the essence of your sound. As artists ourselves we understand the importance of helping you pursue your vision. We have been in the recording business for over twenty seven years and at our current location since 1984. We are familiar with all styles of music production including Rap, Country, Jazz, Rock, Classical, Pop, Gospel and Polka. We are not a fly-by-night business that will disappear someday along with your music. We understand that a real studio is more than just a computer in a room with some software and a set of speakers.
